The specifications have been carefully chosen to maintain Bitcoin’s economic model.

A single hashing algorithm poses a security risk because if it is compromised, the whole network is forever compromised. Multiple hashing algorithms enhance the security of the network by not only mitigating that risk, but also by adding an additional layer of complexity for any attacker to penetrate.

The aim of SecureCoin is to provide a secure, fast, and reliable network that is supported by active and involved developers. The coin was launched fairly with a staggered system and no coins mined before public launch.

==Algorithms==

===Grøstl===
Grøstl is an iterated hash function, where the compression function is built from two fixed, large, different permutations. The design of Grøstl is transparent and based on principles very different from those used in the SHA-family.

The two permutations used are constructed using the wide trail design strategy, which makes it possible to give strong statements about the resistance of Grøstl against large classes of cryptanalytic attacks. Moreover, if these permutations are assumed to be ideal, there is a proof for the security of the hash function.

===Skein===
Skein is based on the Threefish tweakable block cipher compressed using Unique Block Iteration (UBI) chaining mode while leveraging an optional low-overhead argument-system for flexibility. Skein supports internal state sizes of 256, 512 and 1024 bits, and arbitrary output sizes. The authors claim 6.1 cycles per byte for any output size on an Intel Core 2 Duo in 64-bit mode.

===BLAKE===
BLAKE is a cryptographic hash function that is based on Dan Bernstein’s ChaCha stream cipher, but a permuted copy of the input block, XORed with some round constants, is added before each ChaCha round.

===BLUE MIDNIGHT WISH===
BLUE MIDNIGHT WISH is a cryptographic hash function with output size of n bits where n = 224, n 256, 384 or 512.

===JH===
JH is a cryptographic hash function submitted to the NIST hash function competition by Hongjun Wu. Though chosen as one of the five finalists of the competition, JH ultimately lost to NIST hash candidate Keccak. JH has a 1024-bit state, and works on 512-bit output blocks.

===SHA-3===
SHA-3 uses the sponge construction in which message blocks are XORed into the initial bits of the state, which is then invertibly permuted. In the version used in SHA-3, the state consists of a 5×5 array of 64-bit words, 1600 bits total.

===BTC===
SecureCoin’s inflation rate is the same as Bitcoin’s. The two will produce an identical number of coins and at the same rate. There is no need to change a tried and tested economic model. This is also why SecureCoin is a version of bitcoin, because it keeps the same economic orientation. LTC borrowed the same economic model as BTC and it is one of the major reasons for its success.

YAC was one of the first coins to get CPU mining where it currently is and helped contribute to SRC’s functionality.

===SIF===
Sif deserves a mention for being the first to implement multiple hashing algorithms and proving the concept can work. The economy was however not successful.

This guide mainly describes the process of withdrawing SRCs from btc38 to personal wallet.

1．Go to [[Download]] page to download the latest wallet as the picture below:

2．Extract the downloaded securechain-wallet.zip in order to get the executable securechain-wallet.exe as the picture below:

3．Double click securechain-wallet.exe to launch the wallet software. After the start, if the connection is normal then there will be a volume icon in the lower right corner and, the block time to be synchronized will be at the bottom as the picture below:

4．Wait until the synchronization is completed. Under normal network speed it takes around 3 hours.

5．To improve security, it is suggested to set a wallet password by the "Encrypt Wallet...” feature under "Settings" menu as the picture below. Note that the password is unrecoverable once forgotten, so please be sure to keep it in mind.

==Official Securechain Wallet==
===Windows(10.7 MB)===

Securechain Wallet is the official SecureCoin wallet. It is compiled with the latest OpenSSL 1.0.2d 9 Jul 2015, QT 5.5 and BOOST 1.58. For your convenience, the Securechain Wallet also supports getting address/transaction details from the Securechain block explorer by simply clicking new buttons in the main window.

* Please ensure that the file "securechain-wallet.exe" extracted from the downloaded "securechain-wallet.zip" is digitally signed by "Open Source Developer, Haimin Zhang" as to the picture on the right side.
* If Google Chrome gives a warning that "securechain-wallet.zip is not commonly downloaded and could be dangerous" when downloading, please ignore the warning and keep the file. This is because the number of file download has not reached Google's favor level. However the software is totally clean and digitally signed.
* If Windows Smartscreen prevents the downloaded program from running, please click "More info", verify the publisher then click "Run Anyway".
* We have fixed the "no connection" problem of Securechain Wallet for Windows by a patch. However you can still download the original version if preferred and, follow the [[Main_Page#Getting_Started|Getting Started]] section to add the nodes manually to solve the "no connection" problem. We will try to give a complete solution in the next release.

===MAC(11.4 MB)===
The Securechain Wallet for MAC OSX has the same features as to the original version for Windows. As the patch is not applied to the MAC version, there may be a "no connection" problem which can be solved by adding the nodes manually. For more information please refer to the description of Windows version.

The App package "Securechain Wallet.app" extracted from the downloaded "securechain-wallet-mac.zip" is digitally signed by "Developer ID Application: Haimin Zhang (7M8FY5GHH7)". The following terminal command can be used for checking the signing information:
